UPDATED 7/03/04 Dairy- Tie Stall - 2 story hip roof barn - 2"
pipeline remodeled 1984 for 60 cows plus heifers. Our arrangement
is not for ownership, however, we are in a unique position to help
a condition towards ownership. We would like someone who is interested
in managing their own dairy operation using our farm facilities. Once
you build equity in the cattle, you may choose to leave to a location
of choice or make arrangements for long term lease. We can provide
crops, or you provide your own with or without our tillable acreage.
We are experienced dairy operators. We work off the farm and want
to retain ownership of the family farm, while giving interested persons
opportunity to build equity in their own herd. Housing is limited
to a trailer, however for a larger dwelling, rentals are available.

UPDATED 9/07: Farming Opportunity: Peacework Farm is looking for an experienced vegetable grower (or couple) interested in joining our partnership. We are 3 aging partners growing certified organic vegetables and herbs for a well established (19 years!) CSA based in Rochester, New York. The farm is located in very rural Wayne County near the village of Newark; 50 minutes drive east of Rochester. The 148-acre farm is owned and protected in perpetuity by the Genesee Land Trust. We grow crops and cover crops on approximately 20 of the acres under a long-term lease with the Land Trust, but we own outright the farm buildings, equipment, and wells on the property. There is no housing currently on the farm itself. We would like anyone seriously interested to meet us and see the farm before the end of our 2007 growing season – our last CSA distribution is November 18. We start our 2008 seed orders in January, and begin planting in the greenhouse in early March. We would be willing to hire a potential partner (or partners) for a year or two before committing to joining the partnership. We do not grow for a high-end CSA so our income is very modest. It would be best for potential partners to be carrying little or no debt. The farm has no debt and no mortgage; the investment required would be modest and could be made through sweat equity. To learn more about our CSA, see www.gvocsa.org. |
